The optical system, designed by combining Tamron's best technology, features four special glass LD (Low Dispersion) lenses and three GM (glass molded aspherical) lenses in an optimal balance. It is arranged luxuriously. As a result, we succeeded in eliminating to the utmost the effects of chromatic aberration, which is a particular problem with large-diameter lenses, and various aberrations that lead to poor image quality. Even with aperture opening F/1.4, we ensure high resolution performance from the center of the screen to the four corners, achieving “ ideal ultra-high image quality that allows ” dots to appear as dots without losing their shape. This highest optical performance is also reflected in the bokeh, creating a unique expression that neatly brings out the image of the subject in the large, beautiful, and enchanting background bokeh.
●next generation coating technology "BBAR-G2 coating"
In order to achieve ultra-high image quality, it is essential to thoroughly suppress the occurrence of ghosts and flares. Tamron has further researched the coating technology it has cultivated over many years and has adopted the newly developed BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) coating for this lens. This BBAR-G2 coating significantly exceeds the performance of the conventional BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coating, and not only suppresses the occurrence of ghosts and flares to the utmost, but also makes it overwhelmingly more nuke-free than ever before. It enables clear expression.
●Reliable high speed/high precision AF
Tamron's unique ultrasonic motor USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) is used for AF drive. The focus system of large-diameter lenses, which cannot be easily made large or heavy, can be operated at high speed, with high precision, and quietly. Furthermore, by using a newly developed dynamic rolling cam mechanism for this lens, we succeeded in reducing the driving load of the focus lens to the utmost. It achieves stable AF operating performance and improves reliability even under harsh shooting conditions for professional use, such as high or low temperatures.
