With the release of the DC power cable "DC-3398 LL", the number "3398" quickly became widely known.
Using precision conductor "102 SSC" and complying with the American UL standard AWMstyle3398 with a voltage resistance of 300V and heat resistance of 150℃, the OYAIDE "3398" has been proven by the DC-3398 LL to be a wire that can fully bring out the quality and potential of musical instruments.
But this is not the only place where the characteristics of the "3398" can be utilized. It is the speaker cable, the final exit route for the sound of an instrument.
■ Wire structure that makes the most of the characteristics of the precision conductor "102 SSC".
The fresh base material and overwhelmingly beautiful wires produced by mechanical peeling that scrapes the surface in microns, which are characteristics of the precision conductor "102 SSC", have a significant impact on the skin effect. The wire structure for the AWG16 size used in the SP-3398 is 52/0.18. By using 52 0.18mm wires, not only the cross-sectional area but also sufficient skin area is secured. Since the resistance value has a significant impact on the sound quality of a speaker cable, smoothing the conductor is also very advantageous for the skin resistance of the speaker cable, contributing to improvements in sound resolution, sense of speed, dynamic range, etc.

Speaker cables that handle signals amplified by amplifiers carry very large powers, from tens of watts to 100 watts. The SP-3398 series uses a star-quad structure that twists four AWG16 cables together, ensuring a generous cross-sectional area of 2.5 sq. per core. You can use it with confidence even with large-capacity vacuum tube amplifiers.
The star-quad structure used in the SP-3398 achieves low inductance by twisting four 3398-16 cables together. The magnetic fields generated by the cable itself cancel each other out, significantly attenuating noise within the cord compared to normal cables. This excellent transmission efficiency without unnecessary magnetic lines results in less transmission delay and misalignment, contributing to improved phase and sound output speed.
At the same time, the four-twist structure not only ensures sufficient cross-sectional area, but also allows for flexible handling that is less likely to become kinked. In addition, having two each of the + and - wires halves the risk of breakage, which is a major advantage.
