COBALT is an enclosed headphone created in collaboration with Dekoni and HIFIMAN.
COBALT, planned by Dekoni engineers, is equipped with a nanocarbon-coated diaphragm screwdriver and is manufactured with a thorough focus on acoustic space, comfort, and light weight. The natural, high-resolution drivers and high-quality ear pads deliver the best performance.
The ear pad chosen for COBALT is Dekoni genuine leather mesh sheepskin(FNSK=Fenestrated Sheep Skin). This pad is angled to release sound pressure and reduce headphone brightness. Additionally, the earholes are wide, allowing the ears to comfortably separate from the screwdriver and prevent the ears from touching the edges of the ear pads. The wide space up to the ears further enhances headphone acoustics and provides high-resolution stereo images that push the limits of sound staging in enclosed designs. The combination of the dark blue casing and genuine leather gives it a very luxurious feel, and the more you use it, the more flavorful the headphones will become.
■COBALT vs DEKONI Blue
The bright sound of COBALT is designed to contrast with the warm bass DEKONI Blue. In contrast to DEKONI Blue's flat drivers, COBALT uses dynamic drivers for brighter headphones, with bass rolloffs starting at 40 hertz. The mid-low range expresses a tight bass line without the bass bulging. The vocals are located a few dB above the bass, appear more forward and in the center, and the treble is crisp and reverberant. Stereo imaging is amazing due to the wide acoustic space provided by the ear pads. On certain tracks, you can hear a perfect contrast between the left and right channels. Instruments are separated in the absence of crosstalk.
