Nutube is a next-generation fully analog vacuum tube jointly developed by KORG and Noritake Electronics. Like conventional vacuum tubes, Nutube is composed of an anode, grid, and filament and operates as a complete triode. Nutube achieves the same rich harmonic characteristics as conventional vacuum tubes in a more compact, stable, and energy-efficient way.
HA-S is light and compact, with a case design that allows the light of Nutube to shine through, making it the perfect choice for carrying high-quality audio.
<Energy saving>
By using a DC-DC converter, it efficiently converts when generating power for the filament from batteries. This reduces current consumption and improves battery life. However, there is no compromise on sound. HA-S can generate 26V line voltage with just two AA batteries to drive Nutube, achieving rich, authentic vacuum tube sound!
<Tone possibilities>
HA-S is equipped with an NFB (negative feedback) switch. This switch allows you to switch between high-quality clean and clear sound and warm, harmonically rich vacuum tube sound.
When the negative feedback switch is OFF, the circuit has no feedback, and the harmonics of the Nutube (triode) are enhanced, producing a richer sound with a stronger vacuum tube color. When the NFB switch is ON, the distortion rate and harmonics are reduced, resulting in a more "hi-fi" sound.
Two types of output stage op-amps are included to change the sound. There are two types: JRC's premium audio-oriented "MUSES01" and the orthodox "NJM4580". These can be easily replaced with IC sockets.
In addition, a circuit diagram is included, allowing you to customize it. By changing the parts to higher quality parts, you can easily create your own headphone amplifier to match your desired tone and performance, with infinite possibilities.
